Christmas just around the corner!

Hi,

Hope all is well

Hasn’t this year flown by! To think we are now only a few months away from Christmas. We have some great festive trips lined up throughout November and early December. We have them going from many of our pickup areas in the North West and beyond.

To give a rundown of what we have planned:

  • Turkey & Tinsel afternoon at the most decorated pub in the UK
  • Turkey & Tinsel afternoon at superb hotel in Southport
  • NEC Xmas craft fairs
  • Bakewell, Lunch & Chatsworth Christmas markets
  • Christmas markets
  • Stately homes that are decorated for Christmas

The turkey and tinsel afternoons prove very popular. We have a few venues that we go to, one that really is fantastic is the most decorated pub in the UK. Located in Derbyshire, they are renowned for every year putting up the most amazing Christmas decorations. Whilst you dine on a freshly prepared 3 Course meal you can marvel at the 35,000 lights and the 7000 baubles. It really is a decoration spectacular and certainly gets you in the festive mood! Entertainment follows with some games of prize bingo and the entertainer will get you singing a long to some musical favorites.

We have been going for a number of years to this venue and Mark the landlord always looks after us so well. His food is always hot and tasty, his service is excellent. It is well worth the booking!

The next venue we go to regularly is a great hotel in Southport. Gilbert the owner is very adept at running his Tinsel and Turkey afternoon. His hotel is full of full of character and charm. He lays his tables out beautifully in the dining room and puts on a great afternoon. The day starts with a prompt arrival at 12pm, you will then be seated and served your 3 Course lunch at 12.30pm. This year it will follow a menu of soup, Roast Turkey with all the trimmings and Xmas pudding.

Again after lunch a afternoon of entertainment will follow. Get your dabbers ready for some games of prize bingo. Afterwards a singer will entertain you. On every occasion we have been the singer has been excellent. He really does engage with the audience and puts on a great show. He will certainly get you in the mood! You will even see a visit from Santa himself!

Our trip that we do to Bakewell & Chatsworth Christmas markets is very popular. It starts with some free time to take in the wonderful town of Bakewell. This place just exudes charm with it’s little quaint shops and cafes. It is like a picture postcard setting with it’s stone buildings that adorn the streets. You have to remember that the well known Bakewell pudding comes from this place so there are plenty of shops to buy this from!

Afterwards we will travel to a fantastic eaterie. This freehouse, which is situated in the most picturesque rolling countryside is a great venue. Run by Mother and Son, Marilyn & Jonny they certainly know how to run a place. Everytime we take groups here the feedback is excellent. The food is good hearty fayre which is cooked using locally sourced ingredients and wow can you tell! It is so full of flavour and you will be very impressed.

We will then head off to the iconic Chatsworth House and experience their Christmas Markets. The market is full of stalls selling an abundance of produce, crafts, food, jewelry and other gifts. What is good about this place is there is indoor shops aswell as an informal restaurant where you can get a cup of coffee & cake if you desire.
